Club Car

The serial number for '75-'80 Club Cars can be found by lifting the seat and looking on the aluminum I-beam located just inboard of the driver side battery bank. The serial number tag may or may not be there, however all of these '75-'80 model Club Cars has two brake pedals and one accelerator pedal. If your car has this pedal cluster then it is pre-'80.

Club Car is one of the few golf car manufacturers with an easy to decode serial number system.

A = Denotes a standard Electric golf car.

EXAMPLES
A7500-00000=1975 Electric Car

The serial number for '81-Present Club Car golf cars can be found just under the passenger side glove box (where the floor mat meets the underside of the dash). The serial number tag may or may not be there, however all of these '81-Present model Club Cars have only one brake pedal and one accelerator pedal.

Club Car is one of the few golf car manufacturers with an easy to decode serial number system. The chart below outlines this system:

E-Z-GO

All modern (76-present) E-Z-GO cars have their Serial Number & Manufactures Code in or under the passenger side dash board looking toward the center of the car.

The specific order of the numbers changes over the years but the Code always has a letter and the last two (2) digits of the year it was made incorporated in the overall series of numbers. The actual Serial Number is either 6 or 7 numbers (only) and it does not indicate the model year.

Prior to '76 the SN plate was under the driver's side seat, just behind the most driver side battery, on the fender skirt. The date determination on these early models is somewhat mysterious so tell us the numbers and we'll help decipher them. Please include all the letters and numbers found in these locations when ordering any parts.

Cushman Golf Cart

Cushman has two different numbers on their cars. One is a serial number and one is a model and year number. The more important of the two is the model and year number. This number is used when searching for replacement parts and accessories. Below is an example of a Cushman model and year number followed by a break down of how it is read.

Example: 880100 - 7210
880100
= Cushman Model Number
72
= Year(1972)
10
= ???

The most important part of this number is the six digits that appear before the dash and the two digits that follow after the dash. The exact meaning behind the last two digits is unknown. However, as long as you have the model number and year, you should be able to locate parts and accessories for your car without any problems.

There are two important numbers associated with the Cushman vehicles. One is the MODEL number and the other is the SERIAL number. On the golf cars they are located in different places. Usually the Modstamped el Number is found under the seat to the driver side of the shift lever console. The number is into a plate riveted to the console and the number usually starts with an '8', like 898100 or 880429. This number is most important because of all the different models Cushman made. Many were very similar in look but the wiring schematics differed.

The serial number is commonly found stamped into the metal side rail, just below the floorboard on the driver side. Rust or several coats of paint may obscure the 6 digit number. It is not as important as the model number but it helps to have it on hand, especially for the non-golf car vehicles. The 'Meter Maids' and turf 'Trucksters', as they were called, may have the serial and model number on the dash console near the emergency brake pedal.

Columbia ParCar

The golf car vehicle identification number is located on a metal tag above the left rear tire on the rear frame cross brace on most older models. For others you will find it behind the batteries in the battery bank cavity. We are in the process of creating a chart to show you what year your Columbia/Harley is based on you vehicle identification number.

Yamaha G1

Serial # on Frame Under Rear Bumper

Look under the rear bumper, just below where the Bumper Mount Bracket bolts onto the cross member of the car frame. The number is stamped into the metal and must be viewed from the rear. Depending on the specific year the serial number might be on either side of the frame cross member. Take a damp rag and a flashlight to help see the numbers. (Hey, I never said it would be easy.) You will see the 'Jxx - plus 6 numbers', for example, 'J10-000123. If the frame has much rust the serial number may be obscured.

Yamaha G2/G9

The serial number has a prefix, that designates the model, starting with a 'J' followed by 1 more letter and 1 number, or just 2 numbers. Following the prefix is a six digit extension. The serial number does NOT indicate the year of manufacture. You need all of these numbers and letters to assure that the correct parts are sent.

The early model G2 has the serial number under the rear bumper, toward the passenger side. It is stamped into the square tubular frame that the bumper bolts on to. The gas cars will have a 'J38' prefix and the electric cars will have a 'J41' prefix (i.e. J38-000204). I suggest a flashlight and damp rag to help find the number. In 1988 the serial number moved to the very rear edge of the floorboard, just behind the back edge of the mat, under the seat pedestal in the engine compartment. The number is a little easier to find in this location. The G9 models started in 1991 with the prefix 'JG5', also found under the seat pedestal.
